The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation at age 7. At this age, Dr. Sudit can identify any potential issues with jaw growth and emerging teeth, even while baby teeth are still present. Early treatment doesn’t mean braces right away, but by starting the process early, we can plan ahead and ensure your child’s treatment is as effective as possible.

How long will I be in braces?
This is what every patient wants to know, but it’s something we don’t have a guaranteed answer for. Every mouth is different and every patient responds to treatment in their own way. Treatment time with braces will be different every time.
Will braces hurt?
With advancements in orthodontic technology, discomfort associated with braces has significantly reduced. At Mint Orthodontics, we use LightForce brackets, ensuring superior comfort compared to traditional braces. While some discomfort is normal after adjustments or when you first get your braces, this usually subsides within a few days.
What about braces for adults?
Braces can be a good option too, especially if it will be difficult to straighten your teeth or fix your bite. LightForce braces are more inconspicuous and more comfortable than ever before. Fewer appointments and shorter treatment times help too!
Will I need to wear retainers after treatment?
As part of any treatment plan, we provide you with a set of retainers through RETAIN that will help ensure your beautiful results last a lifetime. We recommend wearing them just at night, but as frequently as possible.
